The Wizards will hold Bradley Beal out of this Friday’s contest vs. the Knicks, the team announces.
Washington is embarking on a 16-game, 27-day stretch during February after having several contests rescheduled due to COVID-19 issues, and the decision to sit Beal is a precautionary measure.
This is the first time Washington has opted to rest him this season. Beal, who has so far played in 21-of-22 games, sat a game earlier in the year because of the league’s health and safety protocol.
Beal missed 15 games during the shortened 2019-20 NBA season and Washington went 5-10 during those contests.
