The Wizards will add depth to their frontcourt by signing Greg Monroe to a 10-day contract, according to multiple sources.
Monroe is coming off a somewhat busy stint with the Timberwolves (also a 10-day deal). In three games with Minnesota, the former Georgetown product averaged 6.7 PPG, 7.0 RPG, 3.7 APG, and 1.3 BPG (in 21.0 MPG).
Washington currently has six players on 10-day hardship deals, which are allowable because of the team’s slew of players placed on the COVID list.
Monroe should see some action behind Daniel Gafford in the coming days with Montrezl Harrell still in the protocols and Thomas Bryant still working his way back from his ACL injury.
