The Wizards are surging, winning 6-of-7 games with the latest being a 121-100 clobbering of the Pistons. Detroit blew out Washington in early April, though coach Dwane Casey believes that the Wizards look like a completely different version of a team than they did weeks ago.
“Westbrook with his intensity and his toughness, they have taken on a personality of his, his personality. I think that’s the difference with this team when we’ve played them all year,” Casey said (via NBC Sports Washington).
After the win, Bradley Beal said the Wizards already had Westbrook’s kind of mentality within them, though the former MVP pushes them and brings it out.
