Washington Wizards forward Deni Avdija has been diagnosed with a right fibular hairline fracture, according to the Wizards. The Wizards also provided some relatively good news, saying that he won’t require surgery and is expected to make a full recovery in about 12 weeks.
Avdija suffered the injury in the Wizards’ win over the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday night, as he exited following a bad fall in the second quarter following a layup attempt and exited the game in a wheelchair.
The ninth pick of the 2020 NBA Draft is averaging 6.3 points and 4.9 rebounds per game in 54 games this season, as the promising rookie will likely finish off his first season with that stat line.
