Isaiah Thomas, who scored 10 points in his New Orleans debut, joining the Pelicans came at a good time, as the franchise has several backcourt players ailing.
Josh Hart underwent thumb surgery and will miss approximately three weeks for the Pelicans, the team announced earlier today. New Orleans will also be without Nickeil Alexander-Walker for at least the next two weeks. According to the team, the point guard has a moderate left high ankle sprain.
Thomas, who spent part of last season with the Wizards, inked a 10-day deal late last week and based on the situation, it wouldn’t be surprising if the franchise brings him back for another when the contract expires.
