The Toronto Raptors started their game against the Miami Heat with a quick start. They slowed down a bit during the middle of the game. At the end of the game, they were able to pull out a close victory over the Heat, 98-90. The Raptors now hold a 2-2 record on the season. All of their games so far have been close. Their two victories were a three-point win and an eight-point win.
Raptors Head Coach Nick Nurse spoke on how tough the Eastern Conference in postgame.
“The East is not for the faint-hearted,” Raptors coach Nick Nurse said.
Fred VanVleet led the way for the Raptors. VanVleet scored 24 points on 6 for 16 shooting from the field. He knocked down 4 for 6 from behind the three-point line. VanVleet also grabbed four rebounds and dished out nine assists. VanVleet spoke postgame about all the Raptors close games to start the season.
“I think until we smooth the ship out a little bit, we’re going to be in a lot of close games,” VanVleet said. “Coming down the stretch, you’ve got to be able to execute.”
