The Los Angeles Clippers interviewed Denver Nuggets lead assistant Wes Unseld Jr. for their coaching vacancy, according to Mike Singer of The Denver Post.
Unseld joins a list of candidates that is already said to involve two former Cleveland Cavaliers coaches — Tyronn Lue and Mike Brown. Lue spent last season as lead assistant under Doc Rivers with the Clippers. Brown is the associate head coach under Steve Kerr with the Golden State Warriors.
Unseld has been with the Nuggets since 2015, when lifelong friend Tim Connelly became the team’s general manager. Unseld has been the top assistant under Mike Malone since 2016. He has also been an assistant with the Orlando Magic, Golden State Warriors and Washington Wizards.
He is also interviewing for the Houston Rockets’ vacancy, and interviewed for the Chicago Bulls’ vacancy over the summer.
