The Miami Heat have improved to 7-2 overall on the season after defeating the Utah Jazz 118-115 in Miami. The Heat were up 19 points with five minutes to go before Utah stormed back. The Heat were able to hang on by the skin of their teeth and still get the victory. Heat Head Coach Erik Spoelstra is happy with the win. However, he expressed that his squad needs to do a better job of holding on to leads. Coach Spoelstra addressed this postgame.
“At the end of the day, I think all these experiences, particularly for a semi-new team early in the season, are really important to go through,” Miami coach Erik Spoelstra said. “Late-game situations, learning how to hold onto a lead, how to play … I just think it was really important to go through that. Obviously, it’s always better if you can do that and get a win.”
Tyler Herro led the way for the Miami Heat once again off of the bench. Herro scored 29 points on 11 of 18 shooting from the field. He shot six of eight from behind the three-point stripe. Herro also grabbed two rebounds and dished out three assists. Herro notched his 25th game of his Miami Heat career with 20 points or more off of the bench. He is now tied with former Heat guard Goran Dragic for the all-time lead in this company in Miami Heat history.
