The Miami Heat defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves 121-112 in Miami and Tyler Herro had himself a night.
After a return from a six-game hiatus due to an injured foot, Herro was back in action and coach Spoelstra planned on limited Herro’s minutes as a precaution. Instead, Herro applied pressure and balled out, forcing Spo’s hand and seeing 29 minutes of action (27 points on 10 of 13 shooting). Herro also grabbed 3 rebounds and dished out 4 assists.
Coach Spoelstra spoke to the fact that sometimes things don’t go as planned. Especially late in the season coming down the stretch into the Playoffs.

“The best laid-out plans are getting tossed to the side at this time of year,” Spoelstra said. “He’s got young legs. You can see that he had fresh legs.”
Herro responded with a simple statement. “It’s Playoff time.” Tyler Herro and the rest of the team realize how important each game is now. They are currently locked in in 6th place in the East. They are one game ahead of the Boston Celtics who are in 7th. As of now the Heat would avoid the new Play-In Tournament format and play in the first round.
