Shooting guard Rayjon Tucker has signed an Exhibit 10 contract with the Los Angeles Clippers and is getting a chance to make the team in training camp.
He was waived by the Cleveland Cavaliers last week, a day after being acquired in a trade from the Utah Jazz.
The Clippers also announced the signings of veteran small forward Nicolas Batum, veteran point guard Reggie Jackson, guard Ky Bowman, forward Malik Fitts and guard Jordan Ford.
Tucker, 23, is 6-foot-3 and went undrafted out of Little Rock in 2019. He appeared in 20 games with the Jazz last season, averaging 3.1 points and 1.0 rebounds.
Most of Tucker’s time as a rookie came with the Wisconsin Herd of the G League. He was named G League Player Player of the Month for December.
Tucker is mostly known for his remarkable athleticism.
“He jumps higher than me, that’s for sure,” Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell said last season.
Mitchell has some evidence to back up that claim, as Tucker finished higher of the two in a high school slam dunk competition back in 2015.
Tucker averaged 23.8 points in 16 games with the Herd before signing with the Jazz.
An Exhibit 10 deal allows players an opportunity to earn $50,000 if they can remain with the parent club’s G League affiliate for at least 60 days.
