The Timberwolves have acquired Patrick Beverley from the Grizzlies in exchange for Juan Hernangomez and Jarrett Culver, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
Beverley recently came to Memphis in the deal that sent Eric Bledsoe to the Clippers, but it didn’t take long for Beverley to be on the move once again.
For a Minnesota team looking to establish themselves as a playoff team out West, bringing in a defensive pest like Beverley could help them form a new identity on that end of the floor and take a ton of defensive pressure off D’Angelo Russell at the guard position.
Culver was the sixth pick in the draft just two years ago, so a new situation could bring the best out of the 22-year-old who still possesses great athleticism, length and playmaking skills as a guard/forward in this league.
