The losing streak is over. The Oklahoma City Thunder ended their 14-game losing streak, beating the Boston Celtics 119-115. With a win, the Thunder still hold the fifth-best odds in the draft lottery, holding half of a game lead on the Cleveland Cavaliers.
“The 14 games, the streak or whatever, it’s been a rough stretch. I just give them so much credit for the way we bounce back up, dust ourselves off, hold together,” said Coach Daigneault.
Lu Dort led the Thunder in scoring with 24 points, shooting 3-of-8 for three (11-of-13 on free-throws). Darius Bazley followed up this performance with 21 points, 10 rebounds and four assists (8-of-15 FG).
“Oh yeah I did, actually I saw it today and I told Shai ‘Yo, we are winning today,’” said Dort, when asked about the losing streak.
The Thunder have played multiple close games in the losing streak, all of which they ended up losing. This time around, they did what was needed to finish the game. “At the end we didn’t give up, just had to finish the game, make good decisions. That’s what we did,” said Dort.
Ty Jerome played well in both games of the back-to-back as he finished tonight’s contest with 15 points on 6-of-10 shooting and 3-of-5 from behind the arc.
The Celtics were fueled by Jaylen Brown and his 39 points. He added 11 rebounds, three assists and four steals (13-of-26 from the field, 9-of-9 on free-throws). Celtics’ rookie Payton Pritchard showed out, scoring himself a new career-high of 28 points on four three-pointers made.
