The Orlando Magic dropped their season opener to the San Antonio Spurs down in San Antonio. They lost the game 123-97. The Spurs were clicking offensively all game. They also were able to get out on the break. This was one of the main reasons why the Magic dropped this game. San Antonio scored a total of 21 percent of their points off of fastbreaks. The Spurs were able to outscore the Magic 26-6 on Fastbreaks. They were also able to force the Magic into 16 turnovers. The Magic were only able to force the Spurs to turn the ball over 8 times. These were keys to the game that Magic Coach Jamahl Mosely preached that he wanted his team to focus on pregame. During the postgame Coach, Mosely reiterated that point.
“That was it,” Magic coach Jamahl Mosley said. “We talked about it pregame. If we can hold this team and can keep them in the halfcourt, we give ourselves a chance. That’s a part of the possession game. When we turn it over, we’re giving them free points.”
