The Sixers will acquire Seth Curry from the Mavericks in exchange for Josh Richardson and the No. 36 overall pick in the NBA draft, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.com reports.
Power forward Tyler Bey, who Philadelphia selected with that pick, will head to Dallas along with Richardson.
Curry has ties to the Sixers’ organization in that he’s married to Doc Rivers’ daughter, Callie, and from an on-court standpoint, he’s a nice fit with the club. Curry’s shooting (45.2% from behind the arc during the 2019/20 season) will be welcomed around Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons in the team’s first season in the post-Brett Brown-era.
Richardson, who made just 34.1% of his three-pointers in his lone season in Philadelphia, will head to Dallas and look to rebound with the Western Conference club. Before being dealt to the Sixers in the Jimmy Butler sign-and-trade, Richardson spent four seasons in Miami.
