The New York Knicks, Atlanta Hawks and Chicago Bulls were all in touch with the New Orleans Pelicans regarding Lonzo Ball, according to Longtime NBA journalist Brandon ‘Scoop B’ Robinson.
Lonzo’s father, LaVar, recently expressed that he wants his son out of New Orleans, so it’s no surprise to see other teams express their interest in the UCLA product.
However, Ball doesn’t feel the same way as his father, as he wants to finish the year in New Orleans and help them compete for a playoff spot, according to Marc Berman of the New York Post.
Ball has dramatically improved his 3-point shooting ever since he came to New Orleans, and with his tremendous playmaking skills, any team would be lucky to have him as a part of their future.
He’s only 23 years old, which in many cases means that we haven’t even seen the best of him yet.
Ball will be a restricted free agent this offseason, and if the Pelicans decide to hold on to him, they’ll have a nice core set up for the future which includes Zion Williamson and Brandon Ingram.
