The Knicks and general manager Scott Perry may soon reach agreement on a contract extension, ESPN’s Brian Windhorst indicated on the Hoop Collective Podcast.
Perry was signed to a one-year deal prior to the season, his first reporting to president of basketball operations Leon Rose. The front office team headed by Rose and Perry have been instrumental in getting the Knicks back into the playoffs for the first time since 2013.
“I’ll get in trouble for saying this because it will get aggregated, but I hear Scott Perry will be around the Knicks longer,” Windhorst said. “He will be. I hear it is all going to be worked out.”
Perry has previously served in key front office roles with the Kings, Magic and Pistons. He is the only holdover from the regime that held office with the Knicks prior to Rose.
