The Houston Rockets have interviewed David Vanterpool and Stephen Silas about the team’s coaching vacancy, according to Mark Berman of FOX 26 Houston.
Vanterpool currently serves as associate head coach of the Minnesota Timberwolves under Ryan Saunders; Silas is an assistant with Rick Carlisle for the Dallas Mavericks.
This follows an earlier report from The Athletic that revealed the Rockets have also interviewed former Brooklyn Nets coach Kenny Atkinson.
Along with Vanterpool, Silas and Atkinson, Los Angeles Clippers assistants Tyronn Lue and Sam Cassell have been linked to the vacancy, as has ESPN analyst and ex-Rockets coach Jeff Van Gundy.
Also, it was reported earlier this week that Rockets player development coach John Lucas is an “emerging” candidate.
