James Harden has been a mystery since the start of training camp, but at least he has now stopped by for a COVID-19 test, as relayed by Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle.
A player must produce three straight days of negative tests to begin practicing.
“I am aware that he was getting his test today here in Houston,” Rockets coach Stephen Silas told reporters. “So that leads to the fact that he is here in Houston. And so that leads to the fact that he is here. That’s pretty much all I know right now. It’s kind of some moving parts to it, I assume. But him getting tested in Houston is good for everybody.”
Harden reportedly has been seeking a trade, though has said nothing publicly beyond holding out.
“Obviously, it wasn’t a good start to it. But that’s the NBA,” Silas said. “The NBA isn’t going to be roses every day and there’s going to be issues and there’s going to be things that you’re going to have to work through as a group. That’s what we’re going to do.
“Him being here shows a level of commitment to what we have going.”
