The Houston Rockets have an interest in signing Toronto Raptors forward Serge Ibaka in free agency, according to Tim MacMahon of ESPN.
Ibaka, 31, will be an unrestricted free agent and is also reportedly drawing interest from the Los Angeles Lakers.
The Rockets are a bit of a mess right now, with star guard Russell Westbrook seeking a trade. They also have some financial tidying up to do if they hope to sign a free agent.
Ibaka averaged 15.4 points and 8.2 rebounds for the Raptors last season, winning a title in 2019.
He is a former teammate of Rockets guards Westbrook and James Harden, as the three of them were in Oklahoma City.
Along with the Rockets and Lakers, the LA Clippers, Boston Celtics, Miami Heat, Dallas Mavericks and Portland Trail Blazers could have Ibaka on the radar, per Sean Deveney of Heavy.com.
Deveney added that the Raptors are the early favorites to keep Ibaka.
The free agency period begins Nov. 20.
