The Toronto Raptors have waived guard/forward Patrick McCaw, the team announced in a release.
McCaw, 25, has been a member of championship teams with the Raptors and Golden State Warriors, but knee injuries have limited him to just five games this season. He has three rings in all.
McCaw is 6-foot-7 and was drafted by the Warriors out of UNLV in the second round (No. 38 overall) in 2016. By releasing McCaw now, the Raptors are allowing him to be eligible for a rival team’s playoff roster.
