Free agent center Alex Len has agreed to a contract with the Toronto Raptors, per Shams Charania of The Athletic.
Len, 27, is 7-foot-1 and should help the Raptors replace the loss of veteran Marc Gasol, who signed with the Los Angeles Lakers. Also, power forward Serge Ibaka agreed to a deal with the LA Clippers, so the Raptors could use the help up front.
Len appeared in 40 games with the Atlanta Hawks last season, averaging 8.7 points and 5.8 rebounds. He was traded to the Sacramento Kings (along with forward Jabari Parker) in February.
Len joins recently signed Aron Baynes and Chris Boucher in the pivot for the Raptors.
“The Raptors have cobbled together a stopgap frontcourt that should be serviceable enough to remain competitive during a ‘bridge’ season,” wrote Josh Lewenberg of TSN.ca.
Terms of Len’s deal with the Raptors have not been determined.
