After a postponement Monday night at Denver, the Detroit Pistons are expected to resume their schedule Tuesday night in Salt Lake City against the Utah Jazz, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reported.
The Pistons’ game vs. the Nuggets had been postponed due to COVIOD-19 contact tracing, leaving the Pistons with less than the required eight players. They stayed in Denver and retested players before departing for Utah, per Wojnarowski.
Mike Singer of The Denver Post reported that neither Pistons center Miles Plumlee nor forward Jerami Grant, both former Nuggets, were among those involved in the contact tracing.
“It’s the 23rd NBA game postponed this season because of COVID issues and the second Pistons game to be postponed, along with the Washington Wizards game on Jan. 15,” wrote Rod Beard of the Detroit News. “That postponement was due to contact tracing within the Wizards organization before they traveled to Detroit for the game.”
Beard later reported that the test in question looked to be either inconclusive or a false positive.
The Pistons (5-15) are in the midst of a swing through the Western Conference that began with a loss at Golden State over the weekend. Along with Utah, the trip consists of visits to the Phoenix Suns on Friday and defending champion Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday.
