Kyle Lowry recently signed a three-year, $85 million deal with the Heat, but there is at least one team out there that offered him more in free agency, according to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald.
The Pelicans were willing to give him $90 million over three years or more, but he never seriously considered going there.
In fact, the Mavericks ended up being the team finishing second in the Lowry sweepstakes.
All in all, Lowry ended up choosing Miami because of his preference to team up with Jimmy Butler.
As for the Pelicans, this is a very tough blow, as Chris Paul also chose to re-sign with the Suns instead of taking New Orleans’ $100 million offer, per Brian Windhorst of ESPN.
