Former Chicago Bulls general manager Gar Forman has been hired as a special advisor by the New Orleans Pelicans, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
Forman is joining a front office run by chief of basketball operations David Griffin and GM Trajan Langdon. Forman will focus on scouting, Wojnarowski reported.
The Bulls fired Forman in the spring after he had spent more than two decades with the organization. He became Bulls GM in 2009.
The Pelicans finished 30-42 last season and failed to qualify for the playoffs. Stan Van Gundy is entering his first season as head coach.
