When you think of the New York Knicks, the name Patrick Ewing is pretty much synonymous with the franchise. However, it doesn’t seem like too many people on the security staff at Madison Square Garden are passionate fans of the blue and orange.
Ewing is arguably the best Knick of all-time, as the Georgetown product was part of some deep playoff runs in the 90s as part of a Knicks team that was considered one of the biggest threats to Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls.
Just because the Knicks didn’t end up winning a championship during his time there doesn’t take away from the fact that Ewing was responsible for the best basketball “The Mecca” has seen over the last 30 years or so. There’s a reason why number 33 is in the rafters.
It’s mind-boggling that Ewing wasn’t recognized in a building he was once the star of the show in. Show the legend some respect just one time, please.
