Miami Heat assistants Dan Craig and Chris Quinn will interview this week for the Indiana Pacers’ coaching opening, according to Christian Hernandez of Miami Heat Beat.
Along with the Pacers, Craig is also drawing interest from the Oklahoma City Thunder and New Orleans Pelicans, Hernandez reported.
The Pacers are looking to fill the vacancy created after the team parted ways with Nate McMillan following the season. Previously reported candidates include former Houston Rockets coach Mike D’Antoni, former NBA guard Chauncey Billups and current San Antonio Spurs assistant Becky Hammon and Golden State Warriors assistant Mike Brown.
Craig, 40, has been with the Heat since 2003, when he began as a video intern. He has served as an assistant under Erik Spoelstra since 2o12, with a year break (2015-16) to coach the G-League’s Sioux Falls Skyforce.
Quinn, 37, has been an assistant with the Heat since 2014. He is a former NBA point guard the Heat, Brooklyn Nets, San Antonio Spurs and Cleveland Cavaliers.
The Heat are coming off their first appearance in the Finals since 2014. They lost to the Los Angeles Lakers in six games.
