The Denver Nuggets have acquired Aaron Gordon from the Orlando Magic, according to multiple sources including Shams Charania of The Athletic.
Gary Harris, R.J. Hampton and a first-round pick are going back to Orlando in this deal, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
Gordon has been pursued by several teams recently, including the Boston Celtics, Houston Rockets and Minnesota Timberwolves.
Gordon is averaging 14.6 points, 6.6 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game. Gordon also averages a very solid 37.5 shooting percentage from 3-point land.
The 6-foot-8 forward should complement Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray very well, as all of them can play off of their strong shooting and playmaking skills in a high-powered offense. Gordon effectively replaces Jerami Grant, who departed for the Detroit Pistons in the offseason.
The Arizona product enjoyed a nice run in Orlando, as he helped bring the team back to the playoffs in consecutive years for the first time since the Dwight Howard era, and he also put on a couple of electric performances in the Dunk Contest despite coming up short both times.
