Niagara University has agreed to a contract extension with men’s basketball coach Greg Paulus through the 2024-25 season, athletic director Simon Gray announced in a statement.
Paulus is a native of Medina, Ohio, and was the recipient of the 2019-20 Joe B. Hall National Coach of the Year Award, which recognizes the NCAA’s top first-year coach.
He is a former assistant at Ohio State, Louisville, George Washington and Navy and played college basketball at Duke from 2005-09. He then transferred to Syracuse and became the starting quarterback on the football team in 2009.
“Greg’s passion for Niagara Basketball can be felt daily,” Gray said. “He has made an immediate impact on our student-athletes, around our campus, and in the greater community. There is a lot of momentum in our basketball program and we are excited about the future.”
