The Brooklyn Nets bypassed a rookie to go with a veteran to play with Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving.
That’s because the Nets traded the No. 19 overall pick as part of a three-team deal with the Los Angeles Clippers and Detroit Pistons on Wednesday, per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
In the process, the Nets landed shooting guard Landry Shamet from the Clippers. The Pistons sent Luke Kennard to the Clippers, and the Clippers sent forward Rodney McGruder to the Pistons.
The Pistons used the No. 19 pick on Villanova forward Saddiq Bey.
Basically, the Pistons and Nets will have a whole new look next season — which tips off in about a month.
