The Sixers are not willing to include Tyrese Maxey or Matisse Thybulle in any Ben Simmons trade, even if they were to get Bradley Beal, according to David Aldridge and Josh Robbins of The Athletic.
Philadelphia has made no secret that Beal is on its short list of players for whom it would trade disgruntled guard Ben Simmons, who has sat out all season. But the 76ers won’t include an additional piece, such as exciting young guard Tyrese Maxey, along with Simmons in a potential trade for Beal, per league sources. Philly has similarly held firm that it won’t put third-year forward Matisse Thybulle, a terrific wing defender, in a Simmons package.
The Sixers are looking to finally figure out a solution to their Simmons problem, as he is still reportedly upset with being blamed for their playoff loss last season.
It would also be hard to blame the Sixers for not wanting to part with Maxey, as the second-year guard is averaging 16.8 points and 4.7 assists per game this season.
Thybulle, on the other hand, has emerged as one of the better on ball defenders this league has to offer.
