The Hawks are eyeing Deandre Ayton this summer and the latest out of Atlanta is that the front office is “convinced” that they should acquire the big man (via Jake Fischer of Bleacher Report).
The Hawks are searching for a second star to complement Trae Young and Ayton, who turns 24 this summer, fits the bill. Atlanta won’t be alone in its pursuit, however. The Pistons, Spurs, Hornets, and Blazers have all been linked to the No. 1 pick.
More NBA Trade Rumors
- Marc Berman of the New York Post expects the Knicks to draft Wisconsin’s Johnny Davis at No. 11 and then trade Evan Fournier. The veteran wing played 80 games for New York this past year after signing a four-year deal and the club should have no issue finding a taker for the 29-year-old.
- The Spurs are the latest team linked to OG Anunoby if the Raptors opt to trade the forward this offseason, as Matt Moore of The Action Network relays. Toronto is said to have had interested in re-acquiring Jakob Poeltl dating back to last trade deadline and it’s possible that the two sides could come to an agreement this summer. It would likely take more than just the center to pry Anunoby from Toronto, though the Spurs have three first-round picks to sweeten any sort of swap.
- The Blazers have interest in trading for John Collins, according to Jake Fischer of Bleacher Report (via the Dun’d On Podcast). Portland appears set on adding veteran help for Damian Lillard and they have reportedly dangled the No. 7 overall pick in trade talks with teams (though it’s unclear if any Collin-to-Portland deal would include the selection).
