Kyle Lowry has carved himself out a majestic career in Toronto but some around the league believe the points guard’s time with the Raptors may soon come to an end.
“There’s a time capsule for everybody and everything,” one Western Conference executive told Jake Fischer of Bleacher Report, “and it’s probably just time to move on.
The Raptors are in the playoff hunt at 10-13, though that’s no where near their lofty preseason expectations and it may be time for the franchise to think about the long-term. Lowry, who will turn 35 at this year’s trade deadline, will be a free agent at the end of the season.

- The Raptors may be interested in adding Andre Drummond, Kevin O’Connor of The Ringer reports. Our own Sam Amico previously reported that Drummond is unlikely to remain with the Cavaliers past the March 25 NBA trade deadline.
- The Celtics are looking to trade for a wing and a big man, O’Connor adds in the same piece. The scribe names Tristan Thompson, who just became trade eligible this past weekend, and Daniel Theis as potential players Boston could send out in the deal.
- Austin Rivers signed with the Knicks this offseason but he may not be in New York for long after the team traded for Derrick Rose past this weekend. Rivers is expected to draw interest from contenders leading up to the trade deadline, per Adrian Wojnarowski.
- While the Knicks closed the Rose deal, several other clubs also spoke to the Pistons about the former MVP. The Heat, Nets, Bucks, and Clippers were all interested in adding Rose, Vincent Goodwill of Yahoo Sports tweets.
