News and notes ahead of the 2025 NBA Draft
Danny Wolf Stock Watch
Michigan center Danny Wolf is being talked about as a potential late lottery pick with Jake Fischer relaying that teams are impressed with his shooting during workouts.
While Wolf has the skillset to make an NBA rotation, the placement in the lottery runs counter to FortyEightMinutes’ scouting. We have Wolf as the No. 26 ranked prospect and the 6th-best center available in the draft.
Wolf has worked out for the Suns and Bulls among other teams and he’s been invited to the green room for the NBA’s draft.
Ace Bailey Stock Watch
Bailey reportedly canceled a workout with the Sixers and his stock continues to tumble.
Bailey was once considered a likely top-3 selection, yet that placement was likely a result of parroting narratives and group think rather than making observations with first-hand information.
The Rutgers forward being drafted by the Wizards at No. 6 is the most likely scenario for Washington, according to prediction market Kalshi.
Bailey is our No. 8th ranked NBA Draft prospect.
More NBA Trade Rumors
- The Sixers are not expected to trade the No. 3 pick despite rumors. It appears all sources in Philadelphia are relaying that the franchise plans to move forward next season with Tyrese Maxey, Paul George and Joel Embiid and want to make a selection with the No. 3 that would help aid those efforts. We have Baylor’s V.J. Edgecombe as the No. 3 overall prospect and his defensive skills would help to cover up Maxey’s shortcomings in the backcourt.
- The Spurs’ No. 14 pick is being reported as obtainable in trade talks with HoopsHype reporting that Harrison Barnes, Keldon Johnson and Jeremy Sochan are also available on the trade market.
- If the Rockets trade for Durant, expect the No. 10 pick, along with one or both of the two future Phoenix first rounders that Houston controls, to head back to the Suns in the deal. The Rockets, Heat and Spurs are among the teams that have been linked to the Olympian.
