The Mavericks have waived forwards Devonte Patterson and Freddie Gillespie, the team announced.
Patterson is 6-foot-7 and went undrafted after two seasons at Prairie View. He averaged 22.0 points and 8.8 rebounds last season as a sophomore.
Gillespie is 6-9 and also went undrafted this past fall. He spent two seasons at Baylor, averaging 9.6 points and 9.0 boards in 30 games last year.
At this point, it’s hard to tell if either player will join the Texas Legends of the G League.
The Mavericks’ roster currently stands at 18, with one more cut to go. Veteran shooting guard Courtney Lee is the only player on the roster without a guaranteed contract.
