The Magic are planning to sign free agent guard/forward Admiral Schofield to a 10-day contract, using a roster spot that was granted by the NBA via a hardship exception, per Josh Robbins of The Athletic.
Schofield, 24, is 6-foot-5 and appeared in 33 games as a rookie with the Wizards in 2019-20, compiling averages of 3.3 points and 1.5 rebounds. He was initially drafted by the 76ers in the second round (No. 42 overall), then traded to the Wizards on draft night.
Schofield gained some fame for becoming the first Washington player to play in a G League and an NBA game on the same day (Dec. 4, 2019). This will be his first contract of the season after being waived by the Thunder in November.
