The Los Angeles Lakers got one of their big stars, Anthony Davis back in the lineup after a five-week hiatus. Davis missed this significant amount of time due to an MCL sprain. Davis’ return to the Lakers’ lineup inspired the entire team. The Lakers in turn handled the Brooklyn Nets, 106-96. They have now earned their 24th victory of the season. They improve to .500 with a 24-24 record. Anthony Davis did not score a ton in his return. He scored eight points on 3-for-8 shooting from the field. Davis also grabbed two rebounds and dished out two assists. Davis spoke postgame about his return and how he feels post-injury.

“Can’t think about it. When I’m on the floor I try not to think about it,” Davis said. “I was what, a month, five weeks, doing a lot of weightlifting. So I hit him, he kind of like fell over. I was more worried for him than my knee.”

LeBron James led the way for the Lakers. James scored 33 points on 14-for-21 shooting from the field. James also grabbed seven rebounds and dished out six assists. James was obviously happy with his performance. However, he was more satisfied with his team’s performance and what Anthony Davis was able to do in his return. James spoke on Davis’ return postgame.

“Obviously right away you see what he’s capable of,” James said. “We draw a play right to start the game, I was able to turn the corner and threw a late lob that he was still able to throw home. So very exciting to have him back.”
