The Celtics have offered Dennis Schroder a one-year deal at the taxpayer mid-level exception of $5.9 million, according to Jordan Schultz of ESPN.
However, Schroder is seeking the full mid-level exception of $9.5 million and is looking for a second-year player option.
Boston also has a desire to avoid being hard-capped for the 21-22 season.
Schroder could have accepted an extension worth $80+ million over four years with the Lakers last season, but he chose to decline, instead opting to wait until the offseason for a potentially bigger payday.
Schroder averaged 15.4 points and 5.8 assists per game last season.
