The Los Angles Lakers have officially waived forward/center Jordan Bell, as relayed by Kyle Goon of the Orange County Register.
Bell was acquired earlier this week in the trade that sent center JaVale McGee to the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Lakers also received forward Alfonzo McKinnie in the deal.
Bell, 25, is 6-foot-8 and has spent time with the Golden State Warriors, Minnesota Timberwolves and Memphis Grizzlies. He was signed by the Cavs when the NBA briefly opened the transaction window in June.
Bell had a salary of about $1.8 million. John Hollingsworth of The Athletic reported that only about $580,000 was guaranteed and that the Lakers will “stretch” that salary out over three seasons.
The Lakers’ roster stands at 14.
