Indiana Pacers center Myles Turner is drawing lots of interest ahead of the March 25 deadline, and while there’s no indication the Pacers will make a move, it appears others intend to find out.
Per J. Michael of the Indianapolis Star, the Los Angeles Lakers, LA Clippers, New York Knicks, Charlotte Hornets and New Orleans Pelicans are among those interested in Turner.
This isn’t uncommon when it comes to Turner, the Pacers and the trade deadline. He has been drawing interest for several seasons, and that’s not about to change now that he leads the league in blocked shots.
“The Pacers were open to trading him before the 2020-21 season began, when they put Turner in a deal to get Gordon Hayward from the Boston Celtics with a sign-and-trade,” Michael reported.
The Cleveland Cavaliers also reached out to the Pacers about Turner, were thwarted, and then turned their attention to former Detroit Pistons center Andre Drummond. The Cavs are now trying to trade Drummond.
Anyway, Turner is in the second of a four-year contract that pays him $17.5 million per season. So it’s a “movable” deal. And opposing teams seemingly intend to find out just how movable.
