The Los Angeles Lakers have agreed to a deal with former Stephen F. Austin shooting guard Kevon Harris, agent Billy Davis told Ben Stinar of Forbes.
Harris is 6-foot-6 and went undrafted after four years with the Lumberjacks. He averaged 17.5 points and 5.7 rebounds in 31 games as a senior, shooting 47 percent from the field and 41 percent on 3-pointers.
As a result of his fine season, Harris was named Southland Conference Player of the Year.
The terms of the contract haven’t been announced, but it is likely an Exhibit 10 “make good” deal — or one-year, minimum salary contract. An Exhibit 10 contract would allow a bonus of up to $50,000 if Harris is waived and remains with the Lakers’ G-League franchise for at least 60 days.
It should also be noted that the Lakers have a two-way contract slot available.
Dennis Schroeder, Alex Caruso, Wesley Matthews and Talen Horton-Tucker are among the guards already on the Lakers’ roster. LeBron James, of course, often plays the position as well.
