Free agent center Kosta Koufos has signed with Greek club Olympiacos, the team announced in a news release.
Koufos, 31, is a native of Canton, Ohio, and played at GlenOak High School before spending a season at Ohio State. He was selected by the Utah Jazz with the No. 23 overall pick in the 2008 draft.
Along with the Jazz, Koufos spent time with the Memphis Grizzlies, Denver Nuggets, Minnesota Timberwolves and Sacramento Kings. He last appeared in an NBA game in 2019 with the Kings.
Last year, Koufos played for Russian power CSKA Moscow. He carries NBA career averages of 5.7 points and 5.0 rebounds.
His parents, Katerina and the late Alex Koufos, are Greek immigrants. Alex Koufos was a pediatrician who died when Kosta Koufos was 9 years old.
