The Knicks waived free agent small forward Andrew White III shortly after signing him Saturday.
While terms of the deal weren’t announced, it was believed to be an Exhibit 10 contract. An Exhibit 10 deal guarantees a player $50,000 if he can remain with an NBA team’s G League affiliate for 60 days.
White, 27, is 6-foot-7 and went undrafted out of Syracuse in 2017. He has had multiple stints in NBA training camps since then, though his experience in the league is limited to a 15-game stint with the Atlanta Hawks in 2017-18.
Most of his time has been spent in the G League, most recently with the Knicks’ affiliate in Westchester. He has also spent time with the Erie BayHawks and Maine Red Claws.
In order to make room for White, the Knicks first waived forward/center Skal Labissiere, a 2016 first-round pick. The bottom line is both White and Labissiere are likely headed for the G League next.
