Russian club Khimki has released former NBA center Greg Monroe and power forward Jonas Jerebko. The team said it was terminating the contracts of both players for personal reasons.
Khimki is in the EuroLeague basement with a record of 2-19, leading to the dismissal of coach Rimas Kurtinaitis on Jan. 15.
Monroe, 30, appeared in 15 games with Khimki and compiled averages of 12.6 points and 6.3 rebounds.
He last appeared in the NBA with the Toronto Raptors, Boston Celtics and Philadelphia 76ers during the 2018-19 season. He has also spent time with the Phoenix Suns, Milwaukee Bucks and Detroit Pistons.
Jerebko, 33, spent the previous two seasons with Khimki. This year, he averaged 10.8 points and 5.8 rebounds.
Before that, he played for the Golden State Warriors, Utah Jazz, Celtics and Pistons. Jerebko averaged 6.3 and 3.9 rebounds in his last NBA season, which came in 2018-19.
