The Philadelphia 76ers were able to earn a decisive win in game one of their Eastern Conference first-round series. The Sixers defeated the Raptors 131-111 to take the lead in this series. The Sixers played with assertiveness all game long and this game was never in doubt.
Tyrese Maxey led the way for the Sixers. He exploded with 38 points on 14-for-21 shooting from the field. Maxey knocked down 5-for-8 from the three-point line. Maxey also grabbed four rebounds and dished out two assists. Maxey’s teammate and backcourt mate James Harden had high praise for him postgame.
“I saw growth, man,” Harden said. “I saw him from being up-and-down and not really having consistent minutes last year in the postseason to starting and having a huge role on a championship-contending team.”
