The Miami Heat came into the NBA Play-In Tournament this season as the 10th seed out East. The final seed in the Eastern Conference. The Heat traveled to Chicago to face the Chicago Bulls in the 9/10 game. The Heat jumped out to a big lead early and never let their foot off the gas. The Miami Heat beat the Chicago Bulls 109-90 to advance to the next Eastern Conference Play-In. They will play the Atlanta Hawks in Atlanta next. The game will take place on Friday, April 18th at 7 pm at State Farm Arena in Atlanta. The winner of the Heat vs. Hawks game will face the top-seeded Cleveland Cavaliers in the first round.
Tyler Herro led the way for the Miami Heat with 38 points. Herro scored 38 on 13-for-19 shooting. Herro shot 3-for-7 from the three-point line. Herro made 9-for-10 from the free-throw line. Herro grabbed five rebounds, dished out four assists, and recorded a steal as well. Herro scored 23 of his 38 points in the first half to give the Heat a 71-47 lead that they never relinquished.
Heat Head Coach Erik Spoelstra spoke postgame about the Heat’s current mission.
“We’re only halfway there,” coach Erik Spoelstra said. “We didn’t have the luxury of having the one game, and then you’re automatically in. Guys feel great about this win and put a lot into this. This is not something that could just happen overnight. I feel like there’s been some good things happening the last several weeks.”
