The Miami Heat defeated the Detroit Pistons 115-112 to earn their 20th victory of the season. The Heat now sit at 20-13 overall on the season. The Heat played a hard fought game against the short-handed Pistons. The Heat player short-handed as well but key guys stepped up to help them earn victory. One of these key guys was Max Strus. Strus hit the game winning three-pointer with 40 seconds left against the Pistons. He also scored 26 points on 10-for-18 shooting from the field. Strus knocked down 5-for-11 from the three-point line. He also grabbed six rebounds.
Tyler Herro led the Heat once again off of the bench as he has done numerous times this season. Herro led the Heat in scoring with 29 points off of the bench. Herro shot 11-for-21 from the field. He also shot 3-for-5 from the three-point line. Herro also grabbed four rebounds and dished out four assists. No shot was bigger than the go-ahead three Herro hit from the wing to give the Heat a 112-110 lead. Heat Head Coach Erik Spoelstra spoke on the shot Herro hit postgame.
“It looked like the possession was jammed up and also it looked like there were probably two or three people open for a second,” Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said. “I was contemplating on calling a time out. Thankfully, the head coach didn’t get in the way, and he made an incredible shot at which he has the ability to do.”
