The Miami Heat were able to get back to the .500 mark with their latest victory in Houston. The Miami Heat defeated the Houston Rockets 111-108 to earn their 15th victory of the season. The Heat now holds a 15-15 record overall and now sit in first place in the NBA’s Southeast Division. Miami Heat Head Coach Erik Spoelstra spoke postgame about his team’s performance and Tyler Herro, who led the way for the Heat.
“The last couple of games, that’s been the scheme against him,” Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said. “That’s been open. But regardless, he’s too good of a shooter for us not to take 3s off the catch. He has to continue to be assertive in those opportunities. He’s just a brilliant shooter. He can do it off the dribble and the catch.”
Tyler Herro scored a career-high 41 points on 13-for-20 shooting from the field. Herro knocked down 10-for-15 from behind the three-point line. Herro knocked down 5-for-5 from the free-throw line. He also grabbed six rebounds and dished out two assists. One night after hitting a career-high nine three-pointers, Herro turned around and hit 10. Herro is the fourth Heat player to hit 10 threes in a game. Herro spoke postgame regarding his performance.
“I didn’t know it was the record until last night when I hit nine, and they said I was one short,” Herro said. “I didn’t have any intention of coming in to tie the record, but I was just trying to get 3s up. I think shooting more 3s is helping.”
- Jimmy Butler scored 20 points, grabbed 10 rebounds, and dished out seven assists.
- Caleb Martin scored 13 points and grabbed two rebounds.
- Max Strus scored 12 points, grabbed four rebounds, and dished out five assists.
