The Los Angeles Lakers earned their 24th victory this season in a nail-biter against the Golden State Warriors. The Lakers won the game 145-144 in double overtime. The Lakers are now 24-23 overall and 7-15 on the road. LeBron James and Stephen Curry had yet another deal. The Lakers survived despite a 46-point blitz from Steph. LeBron James spoke postgame about the matchup and the Lakers’ win.
“It’s something I’ll be able to talk about with my grandkids, talk about me being able to compete with one of the greatest players to ever play the game,” James said. “So hopefully I can be cool with my grandkids at that point, for sure.”
LeBron James led the way for the Lakers with 36 points. James scored his 36 on 14-for-25 shooting. James knocked down 2-for-4 from the three-point line. James knocked down 6-for-6 from the free-throw line including the two game-winning free-throws. James also grabbed 20 rebounds and dished out 12 assists. Another triple-double for James.
Coach Darvin Ham spoke on the Lakers’ win postgame. He highlighted how the group is beginning to hit their stride.
“Just trying to control myself first and foremost as a basketball fan,” he said. “They should be real happy in New York, this was a hell of a basketball game, a high-level basketball game. Two legends going back and forth, two great organizations. It was fun to be a part of. It’s just one of those wins where it showed our character. Our group is really coming together.”
