The Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Denver Nuggets 126-108 to earn their 12th victory of the season. The Lakers now sit at 12-16 after a slow start to the season. Anthony Davis missed the second half of the game with an injury to his right foot after spraining it in the air bumping Nikola Jokic. Despite Davis’ injury, the Lakers played arguably their best basketball of the season after halftime. Lakers’ Point Guard Russell Westbrook spoke on his team’s play and resilience postgame.
βThe pace changed, and the game changed,β Westbrook said. βYou could see it. When we play that way, it’s hard to beat us.β
LeBron James scored a game-high 30 points on 13-for-20 shooting from the field. James knocked down 1-for-4 from behind the three-point line. James hit 3-for-4 from the free-throw line. James also grabbed nine rebounds, dished out four assists, and two steals. James spoke postgame about the Lakers’ victory.
βIt’s huge, especially after the heartbreak loss we had last time against Boston,β James said. βWe started to get defensive stops, and we were able to get out and execute offensively.β
