The Los Angeles Lakers found their way back to the win column. The Lakers defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder 116-95. The Lakers had previously lost against the Thunder the first two games they played them this season. However, in those two games, LeBron James was out of the lineup. This game was a good win and the Lakers are looking at this as a catalyst to hopefully go on a winning streak. Lakers Center DeAndre Jordan spoke postgame regarding this very matter.
“There’s teams that we should have beaten that we didn’t beat,” Lakers center DeAndre Jordan said. “And we don’t want to look back in April, whatever it is and, ‘Oh wow, we could have had home-court advantage. We could have did this, we could have done that if we would have finished a game out an extra eight minutes.’”
Coach Frank Vogel spoke postgame about the Lakers’ win and improvement from their lost the previous night in Memphis against the Grizzles. The Lakers seemed to not be trusting each other as of late on the court. The win against the Thunder was a major improvement in that area.
“It’s not about who’s going, it’s about the ball finding the open man,” Lakers coach Frank Vogel said. “Everybody out there can score, and I try to try to give a message that … it’s going to come down to everyone trusting each other and not worrying about who’s performing at a high level on a given night.”
LeBron James played a great game against the Oklahoma City Thunder. James scored 33 points, grabbed five rebounds, and dished out six assists. James put constant pressure on the Thunder’s defense and was the key catalyst for the Lakers getting the blowout win. James also achieved a huge milestone by earning his 100th career triple-double.
